US terms, privacy and policies
Additional terms for customers and participants in the United States. Last updated: October 14, 2026.
This page supplements our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If anything here conflicts with those documents for a user in the United States, this page applies. FairStream is operated by Happy Electronics s.r.o., Czech Republic (EU), Company ID 278 79 782 ("we").
1. Nonpartisan service and campaign finance
FairStream is a commercial software tool. We are a foreign (EU) company. We do not make contributions or expenditures in connection with any US federal, state or local election, we do not endorse, support or oppose any candidate, political party or ballot measure, and we do not take part in any customer's decisions about an election.
Same price and limits for everyone. Pricing, plans and limits are identical for all customers, including candidates, campaigns, political parties and political committees. The free plan is available to anyone on the same terms. We do not offer campaign discounts, free credits, extended limits or services beyond our normal product and normal technical support. Our staff do not produce, moderate, promote or advise on any customer's event, content or strategy.
We do not stage or sponsor debates or forums. The organizer is the host of the event.
2. Organizer responsibilities
As the organizer, you are responsible for your event, including:
- the invitation and selection criteria for candidates, and compliance with any rules that apply to you as a host, such as FEC rules on candidate debates for federal office (11 CFR 110.13) and state and local election law;
- campaign finance reporting, if you are a campaign or committee, and any required "paid for by" disclaimers when you promote or stream the event;
- informing your audience and anyone outside FairStream that the event is streamed and recorded;
- the accuracy of the organizer and contact details shown on the public event page;
- the content of your questions and of your stream on YouTube or Facebook, which is also subject to those platforms' terms.
3. Recording and consent
Before entering an event, every participant sees a notice that the event may be streamed live and recorded, who the organizer is, how long we keep the recording and how to request deletion, and must agree before joining. Some US states require the consent of all parties to a recording. By joining, participants give that consent for the event. Organizers must not record or stream participants who have not joined through FairStream's consent step.
4. Pricing, cancellations and refunds
| Situation | Plus ($14, card on the web) | Free ($0) |
|---|---|---|
| Organizer cancels 48 hours or more before the start | Full refund | No penalty, the slot is released |
| Organizer cancels less than 48 hours before the start | One free reschedule to another available Plus slot; otherwise no refund | No penalty |
| Organizer does not show up | No refund | After a second no-show in a row, no new free booking for 14 days |
| Invited candidates do not join | No refund; the event can go ahead with fewer participants | Same |
| Problem with YouTube, Facebook or a participant's internet | Not a FairStream failure; the event and recording continue | Same |
| FairStream failure, or confirmed capacity not available | Replacement slot or full refund, the organizer's choice | Priority new free slot |
App Store purchases. Plus bought in the iPhone app is paid to Apple at the App Store price. If you cancel 48 hours or more before the start, the paid slot stays with you as a credit for another Plus event. Refunds of App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Prices are in US dollars. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days. Contact support@fairstream.live with your booking number.
5. Age requirement
FairStream is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use FairStream or join an event. Participants under 18 need permission from a parent, guardian or their school. Organizers, including schools, must not invite children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we delete it.
6. Transcripts and AI summaries
With Plus, a transcript and a summary are generated automatically from the recording. They are labeled as machine-generated, may contain errors, are not reviewed by FairStream and are not statements by the candidates. Organizers should review them before sharing. You may not use FairStream recordings, transcripts or summaries to create deceptive or manipulated media about a candidate.
7. User content, moderation and copyright
Participants are responsible for what they say and show. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Community Guidelines, and we handle reports through our moderation process. Report a problem from the public event page or at support@fairstream.live.
Copyright. If you believe content on FairStream infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@fairstream.live with the information required by 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3): your contact details, the work, the location of the material, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury and your signature. We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.

- We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or to profile anyone's political views.
- We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of any sale or sharing (we do neither).
- Service providers that process data for us include our hosting provider, Stripe (payments), Apple (App Store purchases), and the AI provider that creates Plus transcripts and summaries. If you stream to YouTube or Facebook, those platforms receive the stream under their own terms.
- Your rights: you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out. Email privacy@fairstream.live. We respond within 45 days and do not discriminate against you for using these rights. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf.
- As an EU company we also protect your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
9. Accessibility statement
We want every candidate, organizer and viewer to be able to use FairStream. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for our website and app.
- Known limitations: live captions are not available yet (the Plus transcript is available after the event); some parts of the web app may not yet work fully with screen readers.
- Streams on YouTube can use YouTube's automatic captions.
- Public agencies and school districts can request an accessibility conformance report.
If you encounter a barrier, email support@fairstream.live. We will help you join or run your event and fix the problem.
10. Sanctions and export
You may not use FairStream if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are listed on a sanctions list of the European Union, the United Nations or the United States. Payments are processed by Stripe and Apple, which screen transactions.
